Resting On A Hot Day

Sunday was a sweltering hot day with extremely high humidity.

On our arrival back home after a couple of days away, our wild

Honey Bunny was resting on the front lawn in the long grass.

I had a short visit with her and took a few pix over

the next three hours as she changed positions.

She never seems to mind me taking her pix.

I'm so glad she's such a willing model for you Jacquelyn!! These are wonderful photos!
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Thanks so much Elizabeth. She has trusted me to about 2 feet on one of her visits.

That is a wonderful Honey Bunny. And it says a lot that it will model for you. The weather might have helped, wonderful collage smile
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Thanks a bunch Astrid. Last month Honey Bunny put up with a two hour photo shoot with me in my backyard. I chat with her and she'll sometimes eat leaves in front of me and she even had a little nap. I think there is a bit of trust established already.

I like the way she is so stretched out, Jacquelyn, and obviously going nowhere!
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... It was too hot to stay outside as we had a heat wave advisory but I did get a few pix and chatted with her for about 10 minutes... then checked on her every half hour and took more pix from the front porch.

She trusts you Jacquelyn
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Honey Bunny is a neighbourhood wild bunny that started visiting me the day after our dog Misty died. So for over a year she has been my little visitor. Last month I got lots of pix when she was munching leaves and having a nap in my backyard. I chat with her and she indeed seems to have a little bit of trust in me.
Awwww. What a sweet friend to have hanging around, Jacquelyn!
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Indeed Ginnie, Honey Bunny comes to visit and I chat with her and take pix several times a week. I find her often just there looking at me on the deck or yard until I notice she's there. Sometimes I think my dog Misty who died a year ago sends her to me as Honey Bunny started visiting me the day after Misty died.
What a wonderful visitor you had Jacquelyn! Lovely collage.
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Thank-you Richard. Our wild neighbourhood Honey Bunny visits several times a week. She seems to trust me a bit so I can get close enough to take pix... which I love.
This is a wild bunny that just hangs around? I was going to say lucky you but then thought of what one could do to a garden. Nice shots of how relaxed it is.
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Honey Bunny is a wild neighbourhood rabbit that visits me several times a week. We have a big corner lot so I'm often surprised she's not bothered by dogs that walk by on a lead down one side of our place. She started her visits a year ago... the day after my dog Misty died. She never seems to bother my flowers and I welcome her visits. I think Misty sent her to me.
Haha, I love the relaxed pose in the grass
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... We had a heat warning for two days so I'm sure most creatures were resting it out. Honey Bunny was indeed enjoying relaxing in the long grass that needs to be mowed today.
I'm presuming this is a wild rabbit Jacquelyn, what a nice thing to have in the garden.

A delightful little visitor Jacquelyn. Lovely shots
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Thank-you Janet. She is a delight to me.

It would be a fatal rest on my lawn. I have big dogs, that really strain their leashes and my arms when we meet bunnies on a walk. But this one knows my dogs are far, far away - great encounter.
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... Leashed dogs and owners always look for Honey Bunny around my corner lot. But she's still here. As you can see she was quite relaxed here even though dogs passed by on the other side of the evergreens.

She obviously trusts you, Jacquelyn. What a sweetie she is.
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... I just wish I could actually get close enough to pet Honey Bunny... but she is wild and I'm quite lucky she trusts me this much.
Clearly having a sunbathe smile
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... One might think so ... but the heat and hunidity was terrible and she was in the shade of the evergreens.

Aaah smile
The rabbit I had before Tigger was called Honey Bunny. I find them so aesthetically pleasing - there's nothing better than a relaxed and happy bunny smile
Jacquelyn Ann: ... ... I've never had a rabbit as a pet. My Honey Bunny is a wild one so I'm lucky she likes to visit me often.
